Professional Pricing Society Arrives in Latin Amer
The Professional Pricing Society (PPS) announced a further expansion of its global activities with the launching of a new Latin American chapter under the direction of Frederico Zornig, founder and CEO of Quantiz Pricing Solutions.
ADVERTISEMENT The primary mission of the Professional Pricing Society-Latin America (PPS-LA) will be to disseminate knowledge, courses, training and networking opportunities for pricing professionals across the region.
"We've been eager to expand PPS's activities in Latin America for some time to meet the increasing demand for our services. But we waited until we had the right leader to head up this important initiative and expansion," said PPS founder and president, Eric Mitchell. "Frederico Zornig's pricing expertise is widely recognized in the industry. He has lectured frequently at PPS conferences and regularly contributed to our Journal of Professional Pricing."
To help mark the opening of the Latin American chapter, Mr. Mitchell announced his plans to travel to Brazil for a PPS-sponsored conference later this year. The first PPS event however, will be held on May 10, 2007 in Sao Paulo. There Mr. Zornig, will lead a pricing roundtable with senior executives from Fortune 500 companies based in Brazil. The event will be sponsored by Financial Officer Magazine and Unicorp.
"In Latin America many companies still perceive pricing as a burdensome task limited to tactical value only," said Mr. Zornig. "The arrival of Professional Pricing Society in Latin America will help create the necessary environment to share fresh concepts, introduce more science and improve the overall professionalism of this critical discipline."
